Prof. DANA YORK

Academy of Distinguished Educators, at NYU was the last school atended by Dana. Ph.D. for Lasers in Periodontology, which she earned after completing a Master of Science Degree in Biophysics and Bio-Cellular Technology. She has actively contributed to the field of lasers in medicine, having served on the Board of Editors of the International Phototherapy Association in Japan and as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. 

During her tenure as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Cariology and Comprehensive Care Department at NYU, Dr. York developed a vibrant and productive clinical teaching relationship with her students. Additionally, she maintained a collegial and supportive rapport with her colleagues.

Professor York has conducted numerous clinical research trials, successfully translating theoretical speculation into evidence-based periodontal treatment. She has shared her findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences worldwide. The work earned the Best Research Paper prize at the Laser Florence Conference in 2002 and 2015, awarded by the International Academy of Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Currently, Dr. York holds the position of Professor Honoris Causa at PMS College in Kerala, India. She established a Diploma Course in Laser, Photobiomodulation, and Mercury Toxicity at the college. Other recent interests: Protection of Victims of Violence, Post Traumatic Stress Solutions and comunity.  

Given her extensive training in Cellular Technology and Gene Therapy, Dr. York has taken it upon herself to study and address the global COVID-19 crisis in pursuit of Tikun Olam (Healing of the World).
